Anti-Violence Project
The Anti-Violence Project empowers lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, and HIV-affected communities and allies to end all forms of violence through organizing and education, and supports survivors through counseling and advocacy.

Center for Black Equity
According to the Center for Black Equity, their mission is, “To promote a multinational LGBTQ+ network dedicated to improving health and wellness opportunities, economic empowerment, and equal rights while promoting individual and collective work, responsibility, and self-determination.” They improve equity in three areas- economic equity, social equity, and health equity. They do this by; “Allowing Black LGBT people to compete effectively in the marketplace, allowing Black LGBT to achieve fair access to livelihood and education; full participation in the political and cultural life; and self-determination in meeting fundamental needs, and allowing Black LGBT people to thrive physically, behaviorally, environmentally, and spiritually.”

Family Equality Council
The Family Equality Council is an organization which connects, supports, and represents queer parents and their children. They work to ensure that everyone has the freedom to find, form, and sustain families and work towards an equitable LGBTQ+ family narrative.

Gender Diversity
Gender Diversity is an organization which works to improve the well-being of trans and gender-diverse children and adults by providing education, increasing awareness, and offering insight into the wider range of human experiences.

Gender Spectrum
Gender Spectrum is an organization dedicated to creating a gender-inclusive world for all children and youth through support for families, trans youth, and educators on gender and its implications.

GLAAD
According to GLAAD, “GLAAD rewrites the script for LGBTQ acceptance. As a dynamic media force, GLAAD tackles tough issues to shape the narrative and provoke dialogue that leads to cultural change. GLAAD protects all that has been accomplished and creates a world where everyone can live the life they love.” They work through entertainment and social media to accelerate the acceptance of LGBTQ+ people in the world.

Gay And Lesbian Legal Advocates and Defenders (GLAD)
GLAD, not to be confused with GLAAD, is a network of legal advocates and defenders working to stop any laws that attempt to make the LGBTQ+ people a second-class community — including intersectional work with other marginalized communities, provide equitable economic and life opportunities, safety and peace of mind, health and wellbeing, advance the rights of queer families, and advance affirmation and dignity for members of the LGBTQIA+ community.

Human Rights Campaign (HRC)
The Human Rights Campaign is a long-term organization aiming to advance equality and justice for LGBTQ+ individuals in the United States. It is the one of the largest national queer advocacy organization with close to 600,000 members.

The Lavender Lab
The Lavender Lab is a research group with three main areas of focus:
- Understanding forces that influence the health of historically minoritized people.
- Understanding the impact of these forces on mental health and substance use.
- Understanding how resilience and resistance factors support these groups’ well-being.

They are currently doing a study on intersectional minority stress, structural oppression, and alcohol use and misuse among sexual and gender minority adolescents of color.

The LGBT National Help Center
The LGBT National Help Center is a non-profit organization which provides peer support, community connections, helplines, and online chatrooms. They aim to educate queer individuals and allies and to form safe, community spaces for queer people. Additionally they have a number of hotlines: the LGBT National Hotline (888)-843-5464, a LGBT National Coming Out Support Line (888)-688-5428, an LGBT National Youth Hotline (800)-246-7743, and an LGBT National Senior Hotline (888)-234-7243. The Martha P. Johnson Institute:
According to the Martha P. Johnson Institute, “The Marsha P. Johnson Institute (MPJI) protects and defends the human rights of black transgender people. We do this by organizing, advocating, creating an intentional community to heal, developing transformative leadership, and promoting our collective power.We intend to reclaim Marsha P. Johnson and our relationship as black trans people to her life and legacy. It is in our reclaiming of Marsha that we give ourselves permission to reclaim autonomy to our minds, to our bodies, and to our futures. We were founded both as a response to the murders of black trans women and women of color and how that is connected to our exclusion from social justice issues, namely racial, gender, and reproductive justice, as well as gun violence.”

The National Black Trans Advocacy Coalition is the only national non-profit organization led by Black trans individuals. Their mission is to help improve the Black trans and nonbinary human experience by overcoming violence and injustice in the world.

According to the Trans Empowerment Project, the “Trans Empowerment Project is moving the Trans community out of crisis and into empowerment by focusing on the abolition of white supremacy to ensure that our most marginalized community members, Disabled Queer and Trans People of Color, can thrive and live their best lives.” While they center their work on disabled trans people of color, their work intentionally helps all trans people.

The Trevor Project:
According to The Trevor Project, “The Trevor Project is the world’s largest suicide prevention and crisis intervention organization for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, and questioning (LGBTQ) young people.” Their focus is on advocacy, research, crisis intervention, and education.
